# SAIF.Business.Policy overview

`SAIF.Business.Policy` is the shared policy-domain business library for the Claims BOF component set. It defines interfaces that other libraries implement, centralizes policy-domain enums and code maps, performs a small set of direct Oracle lookups, and exposes a generated routing-institution dataset used alongside bank-validation workflows.

## Purpose
- Define the policy-period, policy-header, policy-association, and adjusted-rate contracts consumed by higher-level libraries.
- Centralize policy-domain enum translation and code-table loading so callers use a consistent vocabulary.
- Provide direct Oracle-backed lookups for policy metadata, hazard groups, and minimum-premium calculations.

## Responsibilities
- Maintain the reusable policy-domain contracts consumed outside this library.
- Translate persisted policy codes into domain enums and back again.
- Load effective-dated hazard-group reference data through the BOF data portal.
- Call Oracle procedures and scalar functions for minimum-premium and ownership decisions.

## Key components
- `PolicyInformation`: application-layer façade for direct Oracle lookups and stored-procedure calls.
- `clsHazardGroup` / `clsHazardGroupCollection`: read-only BOF business-object model for hazard groups.
- `Enums`, `CodeMaps`, and `clsTranslationResult`: domain-code translation surface.
- `Institutions`: generated typed `DataSet` describing bank/routing reference data.*
