# Claim responsibility retrieval

This operation resolves the user and supervisor assigned to handle a claim, given a claim responsibility code, by joining claim responsibility and supervisor reference tables.

## Steps

1. **Supply the responsibility code.** The caller provides a claim responsibility code, typically sourced from `clsClaimData.ClaimResponsibilityCode`.
2. **Join responsibility to supervisor data.** The query joins `CL_CLAIM_RESPONSIBILITY` to `CLAIM_SUPERVISOR` on supervisor code ([SQL-013](../sql/SQL-013.md), [CL_CLAIM_RESPONSIBILITY](../database-tables.md#cl-claim-responsibility), [CLAIM_SUPERVISOR](../database-tables.md#claim-supervisor)).
3. **Return responsibility and supervisor fields.** The object returns responsibility and supervisor identity fields to the caller.
