PadDirection

Padding configuration objects use this enum to decide which side of a textual value receives fill characters before a binder writes it to the control or back to the bound object. It supports the library's fixed-width formatting scenarios without hard-coding left- or right-padding behavior into each binder.

Purpose

  • Controls whether PadArgs expands a value from the left or the right.
  • Keeps padding behavior declarative so clsObjectBinderBase can apply the same rule to multiple control types.

Context

  • Namespace: SAIF.Presentation.Web.Binding
  • Assembly/package: SAIF.Presentation.Web.Binding.Infragistics103 (embedded/bundled as source, not independently packaged)

Public members

Member Signature Purpose
Left PadDirection.Left Adds pad characters to the start of the value before it is displayed or stored.
Right PadDirection.Right Adds pad characters to the end of the value before it is displayed or stored.

Behavioral notes

  • clsObjectBinderBase uses PadLeft for Left and PadRight for Right when applying configured control-side or object-side padding.
  • The same direction setting is reused for both outbound display formatting and inbound object assignment when the corresponding PadArgs target is enabled.

Constraints and usage notes

  • This enum has effect only when a binder receives non-null PadArgs with a positive pad length.
  • Padding applies to string representations; callers should ensure added characters are acceptable for the target field semantics.
