PadTarget

Padding arguments use this enum to declare whether fixed-width formatting should happen on the UI-facing control value or on the business-object value being written back. That split lets the binding framework support display-only padding and persisted padding as separate behaviors during binder registration.

Purpose

  • Directs clsObjectBindManager to assign PadArgs to either ControlPadding or ObjectPadding on the binder.
  • Separates display formatting concerns from stored-value normalization.

Context

  • Namespace: SAIF.Presentation.Web.Binding
  • Assembly/package: SAIF.Presentation.Web.Binding.Infragistics103 (embedded/bundled as source, not independently packaged)

Public members

Member Signature Purpose
Object PadTarget.Object Applies padding when the binder writes a value back to the bound object property.
Control PadTarget.Control Applies padding when the binder formats the value sent to the UI control.

Behavioral notes

  • PadArgs.Target defaults to Control, so padding is display-oriented unless registration code explicitly chooses the object side.
  • clsObjectBindManager copies the same PadArgs shape to the binder's control-padding or object-padding slot based on this value.

Constraints and usage notes

  • Pick Object only when persisted or validated values must include the pad characters, not just the rendered control text.
  • A padding target has no effect unless the chosen binder supports the shared base-class padding helpers.
