# clsTextBoxBinder

This binder provides the library's standard two-way bridge between a WebForms `TextBox` and a business-object property, using string assignment for text fields and runtime conversion for other property types. It relies on `clsObjectBinderBase` reflection services, can push changes immediately on `TextChanged`, and inherits the textbox-specific error-formatting behavior defined by [BR-BIND-003](../../business-rules.md#br-bind-003-multi-line-textbox-error-styling-differs-from-single-line).

## Purpose
- Keep `TextBox.Text` synchronized with a bound business-object property.
- Convert posted text into the destination property type during control-to-object updates.
- Reuse the shared validation and textbox formatting pipeline, including [BR-BIND-001](../../business-rules.md#br-bind-001-error-css-suppression-for-protected-fields) and [BR-BIND-003](../../business-rules.md#br-bind-003-multi-line-textbox-error-styling-differs-from-single-line).

## Behavioral notes
- `ControlToObject()` uses `SetObjectValueAsString()` for `String` properties and `Convert.ChangeType(value, propertyType)` for other property types.
- Conversion failures during `ControlToObject()` are swallowed, leaving the bound property unchanged.
- Inherited formatting applies [BR-BIND-003](../../business-rules.md#br-bind-003-multi-line-textbox-error-styling-differs-from-single-line) for multiline controls and [BR-BIND-001](../../business-rules.md#br-bind-001-error-css-suppression-for-protected-fields) for protected fields.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Non-string write-back succeeds only when textbox content can be converted to the destination property type.
- Event-driven updates occur only when `UseEvents` is enabled and `BindType` is `ControlToObject` or `TwoWay`.
