HoverHelpControl

HoverHelpControl renders a "?" label plus a HoverPanelControl popup showing static help text supplied directly by the hosting page — unlike HoverHelp, it has no dependency on the clsHelpText business object or the database.

Purpose

  • Provides a simple, non-database-backed alternative to HoverHelp for pages that want to supply help content as a literal string rather than retrieving it from APPLICATION_HELP_MASTER/APPLICATION_HELP_DETAIL.
  • Renders a labeled trigger (default "?") plus a headered hover popup (default header "Help").

Behavioral notes

  • Unlike HoverHelp, HelpText here must be set directly by the hosting page's code — there is no database retrieval path in this class*.
