mdlUtilities¶
Utilities.mdlUtilities is a small module that tags/reads a ControlManagerEnableable HTML attribute on WebControl instances, letting a page's client-side "control manager" script know whether it is permitted to enable/disable a given control (e.g., excluding decorative images from a bulk enable/disable pass, as SAIFHoverHelp and SAIFMessage do for their icon images)*.
Purpose¶
- Provide a shared, attribute-based convention for marking controls as eligible or ineligible for a client-side control-manager's enable/disable sweep.
Context¶
- Namespace:
Utilities - Assembly/package: Compiled into
SAIF.BOF.Presentation.Web.Infragistics103*
Public members¶
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
SetControlManagerEnableable(inControl, inEnableable) |
Public Sub SetControlManagerEnableable(ByVal inControl As System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl, ByVal inEnableable As Boolean) |
Adds a ControlManagerEnableable HTML attribute to the given control with the specified boolean value, for a client-side control-manager script to read. |
CanControlManagerEnableControl(inControl) |
Public Function CanControlManagerEnableControl(ByVal inControl As System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl) As Boolean |
Reads the ControlManagerEnableable attribute from the given control (if present) and returns its boolean value; returns True by default if the attribute was never set. |
Behavioral notes¶
- Used by
SAIFHoverHelp(to exclude its help iconImagefrom a control-manager enable/disable sweep) andSAIFMessage(to exclude its status iconImagesimilarly). - A code comment in the source notes an open question about whether repeated calls to
SetControlManagerEnableableoverwrite or duplicate the attribute — this was not independently verified**.
Constraints and usage notes¶
- Consumers of this module must have their own client-side "control manager" script that reads the
ControlManagerEnableableattribute; that script is not part of this library and was not found in this project**.
Note: Statements marked with * were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts. Statements marked with ** could not be confirmed; treat as unknown until verified.
