# PadDirection

`PadDirection` configures which side of a value `GetObjectValueAsString` pads when `UsePadding` is set on a binder ([BR-BIND-013](../../business-rules.md#br-bind-013-padding-applied-before-display)).

## Purpose
- Control whether fixed-width legacy field values are left- or right-padded for display.
