# Utilities.mdlUtilities

A shared helper module that lets any control in this library opt out of bulk enable/disable operations performed by `clsControlManager` in `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Core.Infragistics111`, without every control needing its own enableability logic [BR-V2-078](../../business-rules.md#br-v2-078-enableability-expressed-as-a-control-attribute).

## Purpose
- Publishes `SetControlManagerEnableable`/`CanControlManagerEnableControl` as a shared, attribute-based mechanism rather than duplicating enableability logic per control [BR-V2-078](../../business-rules.md#br-v2-078-enableability-expressed-as-a-control-attribute).
- Defaults any control without the attribute to enableable, so opting out is explicit [BR-V2-079](../../business-rules.md#br-v2-079-no-attribute-means-enableable-by-default).

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.V2.Utilities`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.V2` (packaged in `SAIF.BOF.Presentation.Web.Infragistics111.nuspec`)

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| SetControlManagerEnableable | `Public Sub SetControlManagerEnableable(ctl As Control, enableable As Boolean)` | Sets the `ControlManagerEnableable` string attribute on the target control to record its bulk-enable eligibility. |
| CanControlManagerEnableControl | `Public Function CanControlManagerEnableControl(ctl As Control) As Boolean` | Reads the `ControlManagerEnableable` attribute (defaulting to `True` when absent) to decide whether bulk-enable should affect this control [BR-V2-079](../../business-rules.md#br-v2-079-no-attribute-means-enableable-by-default). |

## Behavioral notes
- Consumed by `SAIFMessage` and by `clsControlManager` in the Core library, not just internally*.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Relies on the ASP.NET `Attributes` collection, so it only works against controls that expose that collection (i.e. `WebControl`-derived controls).

> **Note:** Statements marked with `*` were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts.
