AppViewMasterPageBase.NavigationManager

AppViewMasterPageBase.NavigationManager is a nested helper class that provides a session-state-backed alternative to AppViewMasterPageBase's direct FocusControl property. Rather than driving focus immediately from a Control reference during the current page's rendering lifecycle, it classifies a control by its bound control ID, stores the derived focus target in Session("focuscontrol"), and emits legacy Infragistics 11.1 client script (igdrp_/igcmbo_/ igedit_ calls) that can run across a redirect or a different page in the same session.

Purpose

  • Classify a control by its BoundControlId, redirecting the SAIFMENU control's focus target to the CVTextBox context box so menu-driven navigation lands the user in the correct context field. (BR-CORE-031)
  • Persist the derived focus target in Session("focuscontrol") so it survives a redirect to a different page within the same session.
  • Generate legacy Infragistics client script (igdrp_, igcmbo_, igedit_ focus/select calls) appropriate to the stored control's type.

Behavioral notes

  • Because the focus target is stored in session state rather than passed as a live Control reference, NavigationManager can drive focus on the page that is rendered after a redirect, which the sibling FocusControl property on AppViewMasterPageBase cannot do.
  • Redirecting the SAIFMENU control's target to CVTextBox means callers that set BoundControlId = "SAIFMENU" should expect the context text box, not the menu control itself, to receive client-side focus.

Constraints and usage notes

  • Callers must set BoundControlId before the page that reads Session("focuscontrol") renders, or GenerateScripts will have nothing meaningful to emit.**
