Grid client-side interaction helpers¶
This operation registers client-side scripts that drive the Infragistics client-side grid API to scroll a row into view, begin editing a cell, or focus a cell, following the flavour-specific API of UltraWebGrid, WebDataGrid, or WebHierarchicalDataGrid.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Operation ID | OP-CORE-012 |
| Trigger | Consuming page needs to place the user in a specific grid cell after a postback |
| Inputs | Page, grid ID, target row/record, column key |
| Outputs | Registered client scripts targeting the Infragistics client-side grid API |
| Primary components | Utilities.clsControlManager.GridScrollToView, GridBeginEdit, WdgBeginEdit, WhdgBeginEdit, GridEditFocus, MasterGridEditFocus, ClearMasterGridEditFocus, EnableGridCell |
| Entry point | SAIF.Presentation.Web.Core.Infragistics111/clsControlManager.vb |
Steps¶
- Resolve the target row/record and column key from the caller's parameters.
- Emit the Infragistics client-side call appropriate to the grid flavour: (BR-CORE-033)
UltraWebGrid: scroll-into-view / begin-edit / edit-focus via the UltraWebGrid client object model.WebDataGrid: the equivalentWdgBeginEditclient script.WebHierarchicalDataGrid: the equivalentWhdgBeginEditclient script.- Register the script with the page so it runs after the postback completes.
ClearMasterGridEditFocusremoves a previously registered master-grid focus request when it is no longer needed.EnableGridCelltoggles anUltraGridCellbetween editable and read-only independent of the scroll/focus scripts.
Process flow¶
The following diagram visualizes this operation's control flow.

Failure and edge-case behavior¶
- No validation is performed on the supplied row/record or column key before script assembly; an invalid reference would fail silently at the client (the Infragistics client API call would no-op or error in the browser console).**
