# CallRex overview

`CallRex` is a svcutil-generated proxy onto the third-party CallRex call-recording platform's `ClientService` contract (161 operations across `IClientService` and `IClientAccessPolicy`), compiled into `SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies`. **No repository source constructs `ClientServiceClient` or `ClientAccessPolicyClient`, and no operation is invoked anywhere in this repository.** This is the degenerate "present but unused" case: the generated code is carried and compiled, but it is not an integration.

## Purpose
- The proxy surface, if used, would administer and query the CallRex call-recording system: users, security profiles, call and screen recordings, evaluations, reporting, and archiving*. None of that capability is exercised in this repository.

## Business context

| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Business capability | Not exercised in this repository |
| Owning team of the called service | Not determined from source |
| Criticality to the consumer | Not applicable — there is no consumer |
| Fallback when unavailable | Not applicable — nothing calls it |

## Consumers

No consumer exists. A repository-wide search for `ClientServiceClient`, `ClientAccessPolicyClient`, `IClientService`, and `CallRex.`/`Proxies.CallRex` outside the generated `Service References/` folder found only configuration item entries (`app.config:61-72`; `SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies.csproj`). `Tests/SAIF.Services.Tests/AudioVideo/AudioVideoTests.cs` is namespaced `SAIF.Services.Tests.CallRex`, but it does not use this proxy: it constructs a `CallRecordingSystem` type that is not defined anywhere in this repository, and the test is skipped (`[Fact(Skip = "Broken Test to be Fixed, Database???")]`). Because `ClientServiceClient` is `public`, an external consumer of the `SAIF.SAIFCode.Core` package could construct and call it*, but that is not evidence of use.

## Capability summary

The proxy exposes no capability actually used in this repository. See [Operation map](operation-map.md) for the full 161-operation surface, none of which is called.

## Generation provenance

| Aspect | Finding |
| --- | --- |
| Generated by | `svcutil` (Service Reference), sourced from a WS-MetadataExchange endpoint (`http://callrexprod:8002/mex`) |
| Generated from | `Services/SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies/Service References/CallRex/service.wsdl` |
| Discovery document | None (`.disco` not present; metadata came from `mex`) |
| Generated namespace | `SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies.CallRex` |
| Namespace matches the consuming project | Yes |
| Regeneration risk | None specific to this repository — nothing depends on the current shape, because nothing calls it |

## Non-documented artifacts

- `Services/SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies/Service References/CallRex/Reference.cs` (≈900 KB) is svcutil tool output; this document set describes the contract from the `.wsdl` instead, per the generated-code doctrine, and does not narrate its generated partial classes or serialization attributes.
