# SOAP client proxy documentation

This proxy calls the external `ConnectInfo`† ASMX service (`wsDBConnections`) to retrieve database connection strings, including embedded credentials, for Oracle and SQL Server data sources; it is consumed by `SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies`, specifically its authored wrapper `SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies.Legacy.DbConnectionServiceProxy`, which is in turn used by `SAIF.Services.Common.DbConnectionService`.
