# Fax overview

`Fax` is a svcutil-generated SOAP proxy inside `SAIF.Services.Web.Proxies` that sends a single fax — an attachment path, a recipient name, and a fax number — to the external `SAIFFaxService`† ASMX service, and the repository holds it so that the in-repository WCF service `SAIF.Services.WCF.Services.FaxService` can dispatch faxes on behalf of its own callers.

## Purpose
- Send one fax per recipient by posting a document path, recipient name, and fax number to the remote fax service.

## Business context

The remote fax service is the sole mechanism by which `SAIF.Services.WCF.Services.FaxService` delivers faxes; the WCF service reads recipients and a document from its caller, writes the document to a shared temp folder, and calls this proxy once per recipient.
