# IProviderDataApiClient

Contract implemented by `ProviderDataApiClient` for adding and updating provider location addresses in the Guidewire provider data system. Consumers depend on this interface so they can be constructed via dependency injection and unit-tested without a real `HttpClient`.

## Purpose
- Declares operations to add and update a provider location's address.

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Data.Guidewire.Interfaces`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Data.Guidewire` (packaged in `SAIF.SAIFCode.Core`)

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| UpdateProviderAddressAsync(long, ProviderAddressRequest) | `Task UpdateProviderAddressAsync(long providerLocationId, ProviderAddressRequest providerAddressRequest)` | Updates the address for the provider location identified by `providerLocationId`; the implementation does not surface the response status to the caller, per [SDG-BR-014](../../business-rules.md#sdg-br-014-provider-address-changes-are-fire-and-forget) |
| AddProviderAddressAsync(long, ProviderAddressRequest) | `Task AddProviderAddressAsync(long providerLocationId, ProviderAddressRequest providerAddressRequest)` | Adds an address for the provider location identified by `providerLocationId`; the implementation does not surface the response status to the caller, per [SDG-BR-014](../../business-rules.md#sdg-br-014-provider-address-changes-are-fire-and-forget) |

## Behavioral notes
- This interface carries no behavior of its own; all behavior described above belongs to the implementing class, `ProviderDataApiClient`.
- Both methods return `Task` (not `Task<T>`), so callers can only await completion, not observe a result value, even though the implementation does deserialize a response internally.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Because the concrete implementation does not check `IsSuccessStatusCode`, callers cannot detect a failed address add/update solely from these interface methods*.

> **Note:** Statements marked with * were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or
> contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts.
