# Payment

Payment is a single payment line item within the `Payments` list of [CheckFinancialData](CheckFinancialData.md), the request payload posted by [FinancialDataApiClient](../SAIF.Data.Guidewire.Clients/FinancialDataApiClient.md).CreateCheckAsync, describing the amount, cost category/type, exposure, line category, payment type, and whether it is chargeable. All properties carry explicit `JsonProperty` attributes mapping to Guidewire's camelCase JSON field names, several of which correspond to the classification codes in [Constants](Constants.md).

## Purpose
- Represents a single payment line item (amount, classification codes, chargeable flag) within a check financial transaction request
