# ClaimIdentifier

`ClaimIdentifier` parses a raw claim number string into its 7-character claim number and 8th check-character, the canonical claim-identity split used throughout claims processing.

## Purpose
- Splits an 8-character claim number into a 7-character number and a check character, enforcing [CORE-BR-030](../../business-rules.md#core-br-030-a-claim-identifier-is-7-characters-plus-the-8th-check-character).
