# CertificateServiceException

A custom exception type used by the certificate services to signal certificate-processing failures with a caller-supplied message, distinguishing certificate-domain errors from generic `System.Exception` instances raised elsewhere in the call stack.*

## Purpose
- Provides a distinct exception type that certificate-related services can throw and callers can catch specifically, rather than catching a generic `System.Exception`.*

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Services.Policies.Certificates`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Services` (packaged inside the `SAIF.SAIFCode.Core` NuGet package).

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| CertificateServiceException (constructor) | `public CertificateServiceException(string message)` | Creates the exception with the given message, passing it through to the base `Exception(string)` constructor. |

## Behavioral notes
- Only the single-argument `(string message)` constructor is defined; the standard parameterless, `(message, innerException)`, and serialization constructors are not implemented, as flagged by the suppressed `CA1032:ImplementStandardExceptionConstructors` and `CA2237:MarkISerializableTypesWithSerializable` warnings.
- The type does not add any custom properties or override any base `Exception` members beyond the constructor.

## Constraints and usage notes
- Because the full set of standard exception constructors is not implemented, this type cannot be constructed without a message, and cannot be used to wrap an inner exception directly through its own constructors.*
- As a plain `System.Exception` subclass with no additional state, callers should not expect this type to carry structured error data beyond the message string.
