# LinSegment

`LinSegment` models the X12 LIN item-identification segment, used to attach a coded item/product identifier and its qualifier to a line within a transaction, notably leaving element 1 unused and beginning at element 2.

## Purpose
- Represents the LIN segment identity via `SegmentId` returning the literal `"LIN"` ([BR-020](../../business-rules.md#br-020-first-element-is-the-segment-identifier)).
- Carries `Qualifier` (the item-identifier code qualifier) and `CodeValue` (the item identifier itself), both starting at element 2.

| Fill | `void Fill(IEdiSegment segment)` | Reads elements 2-3 via `GetChildValue` into `Qualifier` and `CodeValue`. |
| Parse | `static LinSegment Parse(IEdiSegment segment)` | Instantiates a new `LinSegment`, calls `Fill(segment)` on it, and returns it. |
