# N1Segment

`N1Segment` models the X12 N1 party-identification segment, used throughout 837/835 transactions to name a party (e.g. payer, payee, billing provider) within a loop, along with an optional identifier and its qualifier for cross-reference lookups.

## Purpose
- Represents the N1 segment identity via `SegmentId` returning the literal `"N1"` ([BR-020](../../business-rules.md#br-020-first-element-is-the-segment-identifier)).
- Carries `Type`, the entity identifier code classifying which party this loop instance represents, paired with `Name`, the party's free-text name.
- Carries `IdQualifier` and `Identifier`, an optional coded cross-reference identifier for the party.

| Parse | `static N1Segment Parse(IEdiSegment segment)` | Instantiates a new `N1Segment`, calls `Fill(segment)` on it, and returns it. |
