iAdjustedRateFactor

Defines one pluggable multiplicative factor in an adjusted-rate calculation. The source comment establishes the key design convention documented as BR-POL-001: when a factor does not apply to the supplied provider, it should return the neutral value 1 rather than altering the cumulative result.

Purpose

  • Provide a contract for one factor that contributes to an adjusted-rate calculation.
  • Let factor implementations inspect a shared iAdjustedRateProvider rather than embedding provider-specific dependencies.
  • Preserve the neutral-value convention for non-applicable factors through BR-POL-001.

Member Signature Purpose
Factor Property Factor(ByVal inAdjustedRateProvider As iAdjustedRateProvider) As Decimal Returns the multiplicative factor that applies to the supplied provider context.

Behavioral notes

  • The source comment explicitly says a non-applicable factor should return 1, not 0, so cumulative multiplication remains unchanged.

Constraints and usage notes

  • Implementations should keep the non-applicable case aligned with BR-POL-001 and AdjustedRates.NonApplicableAdjustedRateFactor.
