Add a claim number to a Coverage B filter¶
Translates a claim number to a claim ID using a throwaway task instance, then adds the resolved ID to the collection filter.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Operation ID | OP-15 |
| Trigger | CoverageBTaskCriteria.AddClaimNum call |
| Inputs | Claim number |
| Outputs | Claim ID added to the inherited ClaimList filter |
| Primary components | clsCoverageBTaskCollection.CoverageBTaskCriteria.AddClaimNum |
| Entry point | SAIF.Business.Tasks.Claim/clsCoverageBTaskCollection.vb |
Steps¶
- If the supplied claim number is non-empty, create a throwaway
clsCoverageBTaskwithClaimID = 0. - Assign
ClaimNum, which resolves the claim throughclsClaimDataand validates via BR-CB-01.
Origin: This step reuses the claim resolution logic from Change the claim on a task. 3. Add the resulting
ClaimIDto the inheritedClaimListfilter and discard the temporary task.*

Failure and edge-case behavior¶
- Constructs a throwaway task purely to translate claim number to claim ID — a per-call database round trip whose performance impact was not measured.*
